A little bit about . . .
Judith Radin has extensive experience in the delivery of educational programs for Gifted and Talented students. She holds post-graduate qualifications in Gifted Education, including a Certificate of Gifted Education from GERRIC, UNSW. Her work at three Sydney schools included the role of Coordinator of Gifted and Talented Education for eight years, followed by seven years teaching an Opportunity Class. Since moving to the NSW South Coast she has worked in specialist roles with gifted and talented students in NSW Public and Independent schools.
Judith has for many years integrated technology, photography and movie-making into the curriculum. Her students have made documentary films and authored DVDs. For six years Judith ran movie-making and animation workshops at the annual gifted and talented camp for NSW independent schools. She also worked closely with Professor Karen Rogers on a highly successful Sydney-based art-science curriculum design project.
Judith has taught a unique method for animating stories using hand-made art and in several animation workshops at primary schools on the NSW South Coast as well as in weekend and school holiday workshops.
Since 2015, Judith has assisted students from ten (10) schools on the NSW South Coast to author their own high-quality picture books. There are currently thirty-eight (38) published picture books by student authors.
Since 2017 Judith has also been busy delivering professional development programs in schools and tutoring in Gifted Education at the University of Wollongong where she regularly runs school holiday workshops in writing and publishing digital books.
Devoted to the development of children's literacy and the promotion of books, Judith is a committee member of the Children's Book Council of Australia, NSW.
